Professional Development Award
HLA offers one professional award annually, for up to $1,000.00. Library staff at any level may apply, including paraprofessionals. The award may be used to participate in a conference or continuing education activity that takes place within the year following the application deadline. Monies awarded must be used for the professional event or program stated in application (fees to attend event or program, travel or lodging during event, etc.). Monies cannot be used for per diem.

- Application Form
- One page resume
- A statement, no longer than two pages double-spaced, describing:
- Your reason for application and the amount requested (up to $1,000.00)
- Date(s) of event or course
- How the award will be spent (a budget)
- How it will further your professional goals and enhance your professional services
- If applicable, list other sources and amounts for funding received
