Professional Scholarship

HLA awards one professional scholarship annually, for up to $1,000.00. Library staff at any level may apply, including paraprofessionals. The scholarship may be used to attend a conference or continuing education activity that takes place within the year following the application deadline.

PIALA Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by PIALA. The PIALA annual award provides up to $1,000, for a current Pacific Islands Association of Libraries, Archives, and Museums (PIALA) member to attend the Hawaii Library Association (HLA) Annual Conference. In addition to the award, HLA will pay for airfare and conference registration. PIALA will help cover hotel, per diem, food, and ground transportation.
